Here are our two badgers, Itchy (male) and Scrawny tail (female)

Badgers return! 25th October 2025

A boar and sow have taken up residence in the main sett area I have been monitoring for the past year. I cannot tell if these badgers are Itchy and Scrawny tail returning to the sett they abandoned earlier this year or if they are a new pair.

Regardless of which, these two badgers are obviously comfortable with each other, so should, hopefully, be a mating pair. If the sow is Scrawny tail then she has matured and her tail has filled out. Being a year older should increase here chances of birthing cubs. Many sows do not birth cubs in their first year of mating.

Firstly, Storm Benjamin hit our shores during the week...

Now various videos. One aspect to note is that the badgers are very wary.
Wary play and groom.
Moving to the outlier sett. A kitty stand off. Who won?
Badger, of course
