I haven't found time to visit either MGL or the restoration. 14th November 2025

Eagle eyed readers may have noticed a lack of update to this blog.

A principle reason is that I was side tracked for nearly two years by landscaping our garden. Well, converting a legacy drainage ditch into a covered soak away ditch, and by building 4 small patio areas, 25m of path and 30m of border edging from 1800+ driveway blocks our neighbour gave us when he had his driveway re-done.

Another reason is that progress on the nascent Longwater Road nature reserve had ground to a halt - well, it was moving at a glacial pace as most ground work had been completed.

A third reason is that I've been involved in other, more exciting projects.

I will return to the nascent reserve at some point. Every time I pass it, I take a glance at it. From what little I can see from the road, it has grown over quite nicely. Various gates have been completed. However, I have not seen any announcements of it being a nature reserve or who now looks after it.
